better world club -- like AAA, only better! a veg-friendly travel book (and a mapping website!!!!!)

an entry yoinked from [info]veganpeople http://community.livejournal.com/veganpeople/1777537.html

Has anyone heard of this? It’s an environmentally friendly roadside assistance club. They provide roadside assistance to cars AND bicycles, discounts on hybrid car rentals, and more...plus they donate 1% of revenues to environmental cleanup and advocacy! http://www.betterworldclub.com/

I found the link in the back of my copy of Healthy Highways. For those of you who are constantly asking about vegetarian restaurants in various US cities/states (it’s ok, I’ve done it, too), you need this book.

also, i've been working on a map of a bunch of restaurants and other veg-friendly stuff (i've been concentrating on the philly/NJ area) but it's set up so anyone can sign in and input any location their little heart desires. the more the merrier, so if you'd like to pimp some of your favorite restaurants, or even just use the map for your own convenience, mapping out your own local veg-friendly stuff, be my guest! :-) the best entries would be the ones nearest to highways for the cross-country folks. if you know of some great travel-friendly places, please enter it. it'll be great!

first you have to sign up to the website and whenever you're logged in you can click on the "build this map" tab and then you can add the location either by clicking or by inputting the address. (inputting the address works better for when folks click to get directions. if it's not exactly where you want it to be, you can always move the marker after the place is added to the database)

i hope you can get it to work.
and thanks for participating. :-) the more folks we get to add locations, the more useful it'll be for everybody. :-D
